Understanding Substance Misuse: Level 2
Next course dates to be announced
Full cost: To be announced
This course will provide you with some of the basic counselling skills needed to help others, but it will not provide you with the qualifications necessary to practice as a professional counsellor.
Through teaching and practical exercises, you will learn more about the field of substance misuse, which will help you to decide whether you would like to pursue further training. This course also provides much needed information to practitioners with limited experience in this area.
Those wishing to take part must be at least 18 years old, but no previous training or experience is required.
The course involves 30 hours (10 evening sessions) of classroom work in a small group.
Students are assessed internally at Synergie and will be awarded a 'proficient' or 'non-proficient' grade.
This is a stand-alone course with no progression route in this area at this time.
It is not necessary for students to be in personal therapy to be on this course.
