Counselling Skills: Level 2

Held online and at Synergie Counselling Centre, Hillingdon

90 hours Guided Learning Hours (GLH) (starts March 2025, ends July 2025)

Full cost: £995 (installment plan available)

This course will provide you with some of the basic counselling skills needed to help others, but it will not provide you with the qualifications necessary to practice as a professional counsellor.

Through teaching and practical exercises, you will learn more about the field of counselling, which will help you to decide whether you would like to pursue further training.

Those wishing to take part must be at least 18 years old, but no previous training or experience is required.

The course involves 90 hours of classroom work in a small group.

At the end of the course there is an external assessment that involves watching a short film of a counselling session then answering questions to demonstrate your understanding of the counselling process. The external assessment paper will be awarded a pass or fail. Students are also assessed on their classroom participation and their journal entries.

Students who pass the course can progress to the next level of counselling training, which is the Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies.

It is not necessary for students to be in personal therapy to be on this course.

This course is supported by the Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB). Read more about the course here.
