What is Counselling?
Counselling is all about helping to make sense of your thoughts and feelings. There are times in our lives when this can be very difficult. Talking to a professional who is trained in this area can help to focus on what it is you want and what decisions you need to make to change your life.
Who are the Counsellors?
Counsellors are ordinary people from different walks of life who have an interest in people. All Counsellors will have undergone some rigorous training normally of at least 4 years, be BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) members practising within their ethical framework. Information on the BACP can be viewed on the BACP website:
Is it Confidential?
With one or two exceptions which will be explained at the first session, no information about you will be shared with anyone outside of Synergie, unless you have give your permission.
What kind of advice will I get?
Counselling is not about giving advice. At Synergie we will help you focus on what it is you want, which will then help you decide what changes you need to make in your life.
What is the cost?
We offer a free half hour assessment session where some basic informnation will be taken, some exploration of what it is you would like to overcome, and then some discussion on the way forward. If it is decided Synergie is not the way forward for you we will try to guide you to where you can get the appropriate help.
If you decide to embark on some sessions we charge a standard £40.00 per session and work to a six session counselling contract with a review at session six. We do not insist you complete all six sessions, but suggest that you come for at least 3/4 sessions before you make an assessment as to if you feel the therapy is working for you.
